Gimme Gimme More
Boomerangers. Millenials. Kidults. Generation Debt—these are just some of the terms used to describe us twentysomethings. Why? Because we rack up crazy student debt, head back home after college, move to expensive cities even though we have horrible salaries, and stave off financial independence in the name of “doing what we love.” In short, we are ballers!
Maybe it's a little more complicated than that, though. Metafilter has a nice little round up of recent articles discussing the ways in which twentysomethings rely on financial help from their parents, and what the long-term effects of that hand-holding might be. Be sure to check out the comments section, which is filling up with interesting personal stories and debate weighing the pros and cons of the Bank of Mom and Dad.
